Results of installing storage lockers on the Balkan Peninsula!
This summer we delivered automatic storage lockers to the beautiful city of Budva, Montenegro. Let's be honest, it wasn't easy at all, since the order was received in May for as many as eight automatic storage lockers in full configuration! Budva is one of the most visited resorts on the Adriatic coast, and during peak season the flow of tourists to the local beaches multiplies several times over, which is why the beach area owner approached us specifically with a request for a large equipment set capable of covering the needs of several points at once.
Tight production deadlines
The first weeks of summer turned out extremely hot. Mainly because, instead of the standard 45-day timeframe, we set ourselves the task of manufacturing and delivering beach storage lockers in just 30 days, so that our client wouldn't lose precious summer revenue and the profit that comes with it. Cutting the timeframe by almost a third and a half required us to rework the production schedule: some cell units and housings were manufactured in parallel instead of waiting for the previous batch to be fully assembled, and quality control was carried out at every stage rather than only at the final acceptance. Needless to say, we pulled it off!
Logistics and on-site installation
The beach storage lockers were shipped in two stages of four complexes each. This split of the batch allowed installation of the first half of the equipment to begin while the second part of the order was still in transit, ultimately shortening the overall time needed to bring the whole system into operation. Our technical specialist traveled right after the first shipment. His tasks included assembling the storage lockers and training the person who would be servicing the beach storage cells going forward on every detail of working with the equipment: from setting up the payment module and issuing cell keys to simple troubleshooting of minor faults without calling a service company. Many of our clients often ask exactly this question - who and how will service the vending equipment.
In-house service support
In this particular case, we decided to send our own specialist rather than involve local companies servicing automatic storage lockers, whose services are quite far from cheap! This way we managed with our own resources, which allowed us to cut installation costs to a minimum. We apply this same approach to storage locker production and follow-up service at other sites as well: it guarantees the client that the equipment is configured exactly as intended at the design stage, rather than according to the standards of a third-party service company unfamiliar with the specifics of the particular model.
